As many friends know, I had a blog back in the heyday of the first blogs, where I chronicled my life as an English teacher living the good life in Madrid, much to my friends’ amusement and parents’ chagrin. I called it “We Have the Most Fun,” named after a rave flyer my friend Asha had given me while we were in high school that hung on the walls of my various rooms at college.
“We Have the Most Fun” started out with my life abroad in Madrid, detailing the antics of my friends’ wild lives (hey, we were no more than 23 or 24 and not making the wisest of decisions, although they definitely were the funnest of decisions and possibility also the stupidest and most reckless of decisions, which the funnest decisions usually are) but also just capturing the day-to-day life of a wide-eyed American rubia enjoying life in a vibrant cosmopolitan city. The blog followed me to Miami and Europe for a two-year advertising program, then petered out after I moved to New York City, as workloads and responsibilities and stresses of advertising life became consuming.
Where did “We Have the Most Fun” go? It’s lost forever, locked away in the bowels of Google’s archives somewhere – at some point I hid the blog from public view, then promptly forgot the site password, then changed my phone number, removing any hope of password retrieval.
So here we are … again. I’m looking forward to having a blog again, a little spot to share my thoughts and ramblings and perhaps even the occasional photo or two. My life might be the most fun anymore (definitely the stupid and reckless decision-making has waned over the years) but I’m hoping it will be, at the least, little bit interesting.
Let’s get the show on the road. Or, at the very least, let's get a post on the blog. And with that I press "send."
